Imagine
a headphone amplifier capable of reproducing the lowest registers of bass.
Tight, agile, colorful music with astonishing detail. An amp that reproduces
the accurate timbre of all musical instruments? An amplifier with real musical
warmth? A headphone amp with real dynamics? Hard to imagine?
With the Solo "monitor class" headphone amplifier, you don't have to imagine any more! Here's what reviewers are saying.
"If you are serious about headphones go and have a listen to the Solo - and be prepared to buy it there and then" What Hi-Fi? Sound & Vision, 5 stars, October 2004
"This unassuming little box delivers a double-whammy of breathtaking resolution and gripping dynamics" What Hi-Fi? Sound & Vision, 5 stars, Ultimate Guide, Autumn 2004
"Without a shadow of a doubt, the Solo is a very
accomplished little amplifier"

"...if you're in the market for a great sounding headphone amp and
don't want to drop the kilo-bucks needed for "the other guys" amp,
I'd seriously consider the Graham Slee's Solo"

The Solo is truly monitor class. Based on electronics normally only found in professional studio equipment - the Solo has a linear response with a big speaker sound you don't usually get with headphones. The Solo is excellent for near-field monitoring when used with high quality monitor and studio reference headphones. When driven by the Era Gold phono preamplifier the sound is incredibly close to what would have been heard during the recording session.
It is also the reference used in the development of the highly acclaimed GSP Audio phono preamp stages.
The Solo is optimised for headphone impedance's of 30 to 600 Ohms, and performs particularly well with headphones from the Grado and Sennheiser ranges.
The single 0.25" jack headphone outlet can be used to drive two pairs of headphones having the same impedance using a headphone splitter lead.
Two stereo inputs are provided to the rear on gold plated phono sockets. Input selection is by a front mounted switch.
The volume control is a high quality Alps 16mm potentiometer selected on test for close tracking tolerance.
Technical Specification (to be revised)

The Solo is designed by Graham Slee - a real electronics designer specializing in bi-polar technology. Graham Slee has over 30 years industry experience and has been "behind the scenes" designer in both professional and hi-fi audio, designing and developing a number of preamps and power amplifiers.
The Solo is hand built and fully specification tested in England using selected high quality components to achieve its remarkable sound.
